Tuesday 14th
Another very windy night and cool this morning, so nice after all the hot days. Only got to 28 deg I was told. Had a quiet day, did some packing as we head off tomorrow, had tea early and went over to the hot pools, said our cheerio’s to the people in the pool with us.

Monday 13th
Storms, thunder and lightning during the night and black skies this morning, awesome. Was a very hot day when all cleared 41 deg, and humid. I got ticks yesterday and another 4 today, only little ones but fly spray does the job.We are staying another 2 days, just so nice here. Went over to the hot pool and all the others were there, Jo the owner and caretaker and another couple who were camping, we just sat and chattered, so nice.
His and Her lou, or a double lou, the black board above is in the toilet above like this, so good, the IGA girls having some fun. The timber was milled from the farm, all treated beautifully.

Wednesday 8th
So nice just sitting listening to nothing having breakfast. The fire truck camp in and I went and spoke with the chap, he comes and fills the water tank up, cleans out the ablution block. Real nice person. We headed off to Aramac, popped into Pentland, checked it out and headed off down the Aramac/Torrens road, very wide, red road, temperature was 40 degrees. Had a good run and not many vehicles on this road, I just love the way the landscapes change. Had morning tea under a trees, boy it was hot. I did some driving today, did 180 km into Aramac, good practice in case I need to. Here’s a few photo’s to tell the story.

Monday 6th – Tuesday 7th
Monday was sorting, packing and stocking up for heading west.
Tuesday we headed off at 10.30 am and going to the Campasepe River camping spot. Before we headed off the tree loppers arrived and I got some shots of them doing there work. Had a good run thru, camp site is nice and roomy, shade and nice toilets etc, no showers. River was dry and they had not long done a burn off.

Sunday 5th
Went for a drive up to Paluma, called in at Little Crystal Creek Falls, great water holes and water falls. Then onto Birthday Creek Falls, then went to Paluma Dam Camping area. Spent time here and on way home called into Big Crystal Creek Falls. This is a nice area to camp if one didn’t want to go up the range. Called into Balgal Beach, wow I really loved this beach area and the camping looked good. Trees, toilets, estuary and surf.

Friday 5th
Woke to a lovely warm morning, people starting to move out, we got our bits all done and headed off to Toomulla Beach all of 12.9 km up the road. Lovely spot, got set up and relaxed. Checked out the beach etc. We are here for 2 nights, they have nice toilets, no showers, and there is drinking water. I found it frustrating when we went to the beach as I wasn’t going to allow a Irukandji to sting me, there are signs everywhere.

Thursday 4th
Well got a good nights sleep and today is a quiet day, sat around chatting with J & A. Have a few things I need to sort out with my internet. Did take some star trails. Busy place, people coming and going. Good to see the ranger checking here as it is a 48 hour free camping. Lovely toilets, lots a shade trees, near the road, but the trees buff the noise. Beautiful drinking water and a dump point. Good blue one. 🙂

Wednesday 3rd
Very cold breeze this morning, up and ready to go 8.37 am. We are heading to Blue Water camp spot, its a 48 hour camping.. Fascinating trip, Ant mounds, red, black and sandy coloured ones. Saw our 1st Wedge tailed eagle on this trip and it was on a road kill with heaps of Kites. Stopped at the Harvey Range Memorial and read all about building the road, very interesting, tried to capture the info but only so much will fit on the camera screen. Got set up at Blue Water and got the generator going, caught up with a few phone calls and emails. Very cold.

Tuesday 2nd
Heading off today for Fletcher Creek, had a good drive through. Stopped at Ravenswood for morning tea.What a neat place. Another town with lots of mining history. J & A had to carry onto to Charters Towers and we met up with them there. We spent some time in Charters Towers, didn’t realize what a big place it is, we stocked up on grociers, fuel etc. We had lunch at Centennial Park before heading off to Fletcher Creek, we got here at about 4 pm, 3 very large areas to choose from.

Saturday 30th
Woke to a lovely morning sunrise, had a big clean up in camper and aired everything. went for a walk without my camera for some exercise. Having a relaxing day. Heaps more campers arriving. Very cool wind. Did some star trails.
