Had a wonderful day travelling from our bush camp at Cosy Corner up to Gardens which is now the end of the road, you cant go through to Ansons Bay from here now.. Here are a few shots to tell the story. Found some nice camp spots as well. The waters here are either Blue as or Turquoise as and the rocks have a lichen growing on them that range from reds to oranges and yellows, its know wonder its called the Bay of Fires.

IMG_8104 IMG_8119 IMG_8125 IMG_8139 IMG_8145  The dark colour in the top right hand is Kelp growing in big bunches everywhere.IMG_8159  Hows this for peace and quiet in the middle of know where.IMG_8160  And look at their bay.IMG_8162 IMG_8173 IMG_8174 IMG_8178 IMG_8216  Have their own private bay, when visitors are not around.IMG_8232  The water is so clear and pristine.IMG_8240 IMG_8241  Honeymoon bay alright, how lovely is this, we sat for ages and only could here the water.IMG_8244 IMG_8321  Sunset, straight off the camera.IMG_8376 Milky way with the tree in our camp site, straight off the camera.

Day 80

Wednesday 20th May

Well it was a very cold night, woke early and went to the kitchen and made a drink, wrapped myself in a big cuddly blanket and was drinking it when the other traveller chap popped his head in and was shocked to see me, this is at 5 am. When the sun rose it was so foggy, i got dressed and went out to take photo’s. We then had breakfast and headed off to St Columba Falls, what a sight, just to massive to fit in one shot. The forest was beautiful, just love the green moss on all the dead trees and the Punga ferns are massive.

IMG_6839 IMG_6753 IMG_6756 IMG_6758  Priscilla the star, she has been on TV many times.IMG_6759 IMG_6762 IMG_6754 IMG_6770 IMG_6813 IMG_6845 IMG_6849 IMG_6871  Lots of low cloud made it hard to photograph the top of this image.IMG_6906 IMG_6932  Sampled all their cheeses, very nice, and bought real milk.IMG_6933 IMG_6937

Day 79

Tuesday 19th May

Heading off to the East Coast, via the Tasman Highway, along the way we saw Blue Lake sign so thought we’d check it out for a camping spot, but didn’t feel comfortable but the lake was an incredible sight, the turquoise waters are we have been told are because of the tin mining there and the chemicals they used to extract the tin. We decided to stay a night at the Pub in the Paddock with Priscilla the beer drinking pig. It is a historical building,

Day 76

Saturday 16th May

Felt well enough to go for a wee drive up to the Narawntapu National Park, really lovely spot and nice drive as well, did a quiet walk to the lagoon and then drove home.

IMG_6663 IMG_6665 IMG_6662  Nice open paddocks for the wild life, we only saw Pademelons I was hoping for a wombat, but they only come out in evening.IMG_6667  One of the camp sites, some are really decent size.IMG_6672  Walk to the lagoon through the bush.IMG_6681  Here is the ladoon from the bird hide, only swans and a few water birds, wrong time of day.IMG_6694  The wee bridge crossing over the swamp.IMG_6699 Saw this Pademelon he wasn’t worried about us but we just walked slowly and chattered to it.

Cataract Gorge runs up on the right hand side, there are two bridges but the one behind is out of view in this shot.IMG_6536 There are the two bridges, and the Cataract gorge with the boat returning.

Day 67

Thursday 7th May

All packed up early and ready to head back to Launceston, vehicle due for big service. Beautiful day but that wind has ice in it.

IMG_6484  First glimpse of snow on Mt Roland, very pretty, know wonder I could feel ice in that wind.IMG_6486  Every time we go past here we get punnet or two of Raspberries, and some chocolate coated ones as well, very nice treats, make them last as well, 🙂 We actually had morning tea here and they made me a gluten free pancake, I was so very grateful, Thanks Christmas Hills.IMG_6494  Just a shot while travelling.IMG_6496  Here back at our base and there is snow on the hills outside of Launceston. This is from the veranda.IMG_6495 This is the hill beside Ben Lomond.

Day 66

Wednesday 6th May

Well we went for a drive, the storm has passed , we still have rain and the annex cant go anywhere now. Went to Stanley to see a photo our friend has put into the Cow & Calf Gallery, photography fine art, really lovely art. Got to meet David the owner and Photographer. Next door is the Brown Dog cafe, where we went to have some morning tea, lovely old and unique place. Just loved both their names and there is a story behind the Brown dog but didn’t find out if there was a story behind the gallery name.

IMG_6312 IMG_6349 IMG_6318  We did the walk along the historical area of old buildings in between sheltering in peoples veranda’s, loved this sigh as well, I have removed his phone number.IMG_6321  View from Bobs place, looking out over the bay of Stanley.IMG_6327  Under the Nut at Stanley.IMG_6338  Old railway station down by the jetty. Funny to watch.IMG_6464  Crayfish Creek on our way back to Rocky Cape.IMG_6474  We love this sigh, hell yer great. Haha.IMG_6480 Crayfish creek heading out to sea.

Day 65

Tuesday 5th May

We went for a quick drive, knew the weather was not going to be good today, but wanted to get to see some rocks we had been told about. Well the weather turned pretty fast, we got back in time to hang onto all the poles that we could, in the end the winds were so bad just blew up under the annex and the zip which was already a bit dicky  just broke and everything fell down on our heads. I have done a few movies on it, but only a couple of photos for this day. They recorded 90 km hour winds, worst in 22 years for Rocky Cape apparently.

IMG_6297  Rocky Cape National Park in back groundIMG_6304 Trees are fair swaying and poles, that’s why everything is out of focus, cause its moving.
