Pretty quiet day, caught up with washing etc, shopping. Some fungi in the resort.
Catching up with some computer work.
We got rain last night and its still raining, we will see if we get a break as we’re packing up and going to Seven Mile beach in Hobart area. Weather was shocking and lots of thick fog going through the forestry area, reminds me of a place in NZ called Atiamuri where I use to live.
Tarraleah, these pipes pump the water up this hill to Tarraleah.
Highland Scottish Cattle.
The pipes up the top of hill.
Fog in the forestry. Pea soup, it was slow driving.
The Old Post Office in Hamilton, lovely town.
Another rest day. Walked across the dam and back, lovely. Long weekend here for a 8 hour working day holiday. Went and investigated across the other side of dam, Dee Lagoon, up through pine forest, felt like home. Lots of fishing shacks. Even though there is fish in the lake there are no water birds, feels very odd. All of a sudden the wasps vanished and they have eaten all the sap off the canvas. 🙂
Dam wall.
Brady’s Lake

Boat Jetty Brady’s Lake.
Sunrise is straight out in front of us. I could hear something falling onto the canvas during the night like seeds or pods, think we are under a tree with pods bursting and falling. We have sap from a tree from bush camp in Zeehan and its now covered in wasps, I was watching them and they are eating it off, yippee, that means we don’t have to try and clean it off. Did another lot of juicing. Very tired, the last week has caught up with me.
Sunrise.
These are what the wasps are living in.
These are the trees we are camped under, not sure of their name but the pods make for great fire stater.
Rocks through the water at the Lake.
Country side west of where we’re camped.
We left for Brady’s Lake and got the private spot from last time, awesome. Staying for a couple of nights here. Lots of cloud cover and meant to rain over weekend. Need a couple of days rest. 25 deg today. Here’s a few photos of the camp before we left Zeehan Bush Camp.
Inside camp kitchen, great set up.
Some of the erosion around Queenstown from the mining from 60 years ago.

Sun setting looking East.
Up early and did my Tai Chi out in the sun. Did a big cook up. Had a good look around Zeeham and area, great wee place. Lovely people we met last night. Some of the things to check out are the Spray Tunnel, Museum, Rock Gem shop. Interesting, the toilets in the bush camp were wallpapered with old news papers from 1904, made for good reading while sitting. 🙂
Looking into the town from a higher street.
Main street.
Serpentine Stitchtite.
Museum relics from mining days.
Spray Tunnel. often there are glow worms but not today. This was all chiseled out by hand.
Leaving Mount Field N.P., have really enjoyed it. Its 14 deg. Taking the back road from Raspberry farm as we didn’t see much due to bad weather last trip. Heading to Zeeham Bush Camp for 2 nights.

Tarraleah, Hydro power station, small settlement. Off Lyell High way.
Scenery on way to Queenstown.
Looking down onto Queenstown, the bear hills are from the mining some 60 years ago, still scared, the towns people are working hard to get growth happening again.
Settled into bush camp and around the camp fire with neighbours, great night.
Off to Lake Dobson, we drove and then did the Lake walk and Pandana Grove, we were 1140 m high. Lovely Alpine foliage.
This moss is so thick that the rocks sit into it. So soft.
Lake Dobson thru the Gums.
Came across this Echidna, it wasn’t worried about us.
Pencil Pines on our walk. Heading to the Pandana Grove.
Walking through the Pandana’s.

The amount of trees that are dead and in the water was fascinating.

Manuka (Tea Tree) flowers.
Did the two waterfalls today and up to Tall Timbers, lovely going through the forest. Only a 4 km walk today. Got stung by a black caterpillar, boy it gave me some pain.
A Shelter out the back of the Parks and Wildlife Centre at Mt Field National Park.
