Days 16 & 17

16th Monday
Had a lovely drive down thru the Midland h’way and onto Launceston. got here and Sean said we could put the camper into the carport, so very lucky. We will do day trips for awhile from here. Spent the rest of the day catching up with Sean and Katie. Sean took us for a quick venture around town and down to his work where we caught up with Katie as well.
17th Tuesday
We decided to go to Cataract Gorge and to see Ducks Reach, was an old hydro power station, even though the weather has rained and very overcast, had a great day and will do the other end tomorrow. These photo’s were taken with a point and shoot that is waterproof, so not the best images, as it was raining.

Days 13, 14 & 15

13th Friday & 14th Saturday

Had some bits to do on the friday. Saturday we packed up and headed to Melbourne to stay at the van park for one night before catching the Ferry for Tasmania. No photo’s.

15th Sunday
Up and away early as had to be at the boat for 6.30 am. Had a good run and was loaded pretty quickly. Pulled out of port at 8.50 am. Did a walk around the boat and sorted out our room, dumped our stuff and went down for a cuppa. Took photos, bought our National Parks tickets and had a sleep in the afternoon. Day went quiet quickly, takes 9 hours and 25 min to cross over, couldn’t get over how huge Port Phillip bay is. First Off the boat and onto the van park in Devonport, well it was awful actually, very basic but not nice. Oh well it was a roof over our heads and saved us driving on dark to Launceston which is 100 km away in the dark.

Day 8

8th Sunday
Wasn’t so cold last night as we were sheltered. did our morning routine and headed for Albury/Wodonga and find somewhere to stay, on our way we stopped off at a dump point at Uranquinty, a very small town, and so clean, theres water to fill tanks, & toilets as well. I have a few places in mind where to stay  but that can change when we get there. Well loved the drive up thru the Alpine countryside after leaving Wodonga, had lunch at Henty, carried onto a place called Mudgegonga by a creek that you could not see from camp spot. When we went thru Yackanddandah and headed for Myrttleford, there is a camp spot at Mudgegong.

Called into get fuel and all it did was blow air, so off we went and checked the town out, lovely place, lovely Gluten Free shop, lady made me a GF wrap vegetarian, sat and ate them. I gave the shop some of our “Simply Grain Free cards”.
We are taking the Bylong valley Way, turn off at Sandy Hollow, lovely run thru the valley with big rock formations, quiet steep in places. Couldnt stop to take photos as there’s no room, roads to narrow and windy. got to Ilford and free camped at the Ilford Hall, looking over a farm and down thru a valley, so peaceful, only one other camper popped in later on in the afternoon. Very cool wind, and cool night, my new -10 deg sleeping bay worked well. no coverage here, Started to do a Timelapse but the moon was to bright.
