I decided to make some Lemon Spread from the tree that’s loaded of sweet lemons. After lunch decided to do a walk around the Launceston Marina, its so beautiful, lighting was not great but it didn’t matter.

Packed the Thermos and picnic bag and headed up to the very top of the Tamar, calling into all the little bays along the way, just beautiful. Its been awhile since we’ve been out since our start of the house sit as I came down with a virus so sat that out. Love walking the dogs and checking where everything is in our area, feeling like the local, love it.

Heading off to fill in a gap of 4 nights before starting our first house sit in Invermay, we popped over and introduced ourselves as we had only spoken on phone, lovely people and lovely pets so lucky. Couple of images from the caravan park. Nice big areas for camping, bit run down but a worked for us.

Got down to the Port early and was prepared to wait around and also caught up with my Grandson, fantastic. 4.30 pm we headed to the boarding pass, once on board take our night things to the room and then settled into the enjoyment of the trip, had a really good crossing, good night sleep and was leaving the ship at about 6.30 am. We hung about for awhile then went to K-Mart before heading to Meander to stay with some people for couple of weeks.

Our first night was at Deep Water Hotel, got in late and set up, went over to say hi to the owners whom we have met every time we stay here, had a meal by the fire, chattered with other patrons, was a nice wind down. Next day went down to my sons place in Murrurrundi and spent 5 nights catching up with other family members in the area, was awesome. Don’t get to see these guys a lot as we all live so far apart. Next night being the 14th stayed at Cootamurundra, then Henty showgrounds, big frost in the morning. Benalla, Yea then down to the Spirit Of Tasmania 19th evening sale. This is the photo for people who know about my fear of some dogs, my sons dog so he was close by, she is a lovely dog.
Went to Tokoroa in NZ and spent some time with friends, then headed to Christchurch to spend time with my family, caught up with all the cousins and had a great time. Then headed back up to Tokoroa, had some things to do, here are some photos of the trip, not a lot as ChCh was the only time I had for photography.

I was up early and got the fire going, it was still burning under the ashes from last night. It started to rain, yipeee, but didn’t last long. We got organized and headed off to do the second half of the mine, 65 feet down. Was great. Got out after 3 hours, I was so cold, came back to camp and had lunch then off to door the Green door tour. Suns out, but windy. Saw the Cactus Garden, I felt really dwarfed amoungst the cactus, some are so tall. Went to art gallery David Braddock, his dad was an artist from NZ. Did Amigos castle. The mine images are with no flash and are not that clear, but it shows what its like down there.

Got a sunset of sorts, lots of cloud, there will be no seeing the moon eclipse. It has been spitting, not even enough to damped down the dust.Went to go for hot swim but as usual far to hot for safety, dont know why they dont do something about them, even artisan waters can be cooled. Went down the Chambers of the Black Hand Mine, the art works were incredible.

Our bunkhouse looks like old stables, very comfortable and quirky. The Opal festival is on and town is packed, which is great as the drought is really bad so any money spent in the town it helps. Its not just the farmers suffering, its their workers etc. Ripple effect. Went and saw John Murray’s gallery, wonderful art. Bought a few pieces of rough opal. Got back to camp and chatting with a couple whom came from the town I lived in, in NZ. Went up the mullock heap out the back and what an amazing view. Took some photos, heaps of miners huts/houses.

The land is so dry out here, this is on our way to Goondiwindi.
Farmers are having to use the long paddock just to get the stock some extra feed.
